As Gorilla soldiers tore through Central City, The Flash was forced to team up with The Rogues to stop them. In a furious rage, Grodd returned to Gorilla City, killing all but one of the Elders, who he forced into a torturous device to allow him to generate the energy to take his Gorilla Army to the Flash, where he declared war on the Gem Cities and the Flash. Unknown to anyone, King Grodd was not killed by the collapsing of the temple, and was saved when his loyal ally, General Silverback, uncovered him from the ruins. The remaining Elders send The Flash home, but not before he insists that now that they are free of Grodd's reign, they can all be free to chose their own paths. Grodd's attack reminds Barry of a traumatic Gorilla attack when he was a child, and the comforting words of his mother, reviving his memories and allowing him to fight back against Grodd, tricking him into smashing the support columns of the Temple, bringing the whole building collapsing down on top of him, seemingly killing him. Grodd decides to kill Barry and consume his brain to gain the power of The Light, and use it to lead his Gorilla Army out of the shadows of their secret civilization and conquer the Earth. Having heard enough, King Grodd attacks, crushing the Elder's skull against the cave paintings depicting their origins, killing him, shouting that the Elders are lying. Barry is soon saved by the Elders who take him down into the Temple, where they intend to show him who he really is- not The Messenger, but The Runner, the only one who bear the burden of The Light, and that the Apes are actually the Messengers, with a simple message- The Light moves the world forward, and with his every step, The Flash keeps time and space safe. ![]() ![]() While the Village Elders hold a meeting, coming to the conclusion that Grodd will reveal Gorilla City's existence to the humans in an act of war and that they must help release the Messenger against his orders, Grodd eavesdrops on them, enraged at their betrayal. When the Apes see Barry, they immediately believe him to The Messenger of their legends, but the human is unable to remember anything, much less deliver a message, prompting King Grodd to have him chained up and guarded by his warriors. Just as the fight ended, The Flash arrived, traveling through the Speed Force. ![]() Declaring himself the new King Grodd, he began to consume the previous King's brain, obtaining all of his knowledge and memories. ![]() The two clashed with spears, until the younger Grodd was able to knock his father off balance, headbutting him and impaling the horn of his helmet through his father's forehead, killing him instantly. When he came of age, Grodd-Son challenged his father, King Grodd, to a fight to the death to determine who would rule over Gorilla City. A member of an ancient civilization of apes in Gorilla City, Grodd-Son was raised by the village Elders with the belief that he was the chosen recipient of The Light, a mystical and enigmatic power that super-charged their ancient ancestor's minds while simultaneously destroying the Mayans, and that when The Messenger of The Light arrives, he will be able to usher in a new era for the apes of Gorilla City.

The heavy-duty lead calcium-alloy grids in PowerStar batteries provide an extra margin of performance and service life in both float and cyclic applications, even in conditions of deep discharge.īecause of the use of Lead Calcium grids alloy, PowerStar SLA batteries can be stored long periods of time without recharge. This low pressure venting system, coupled with the extraordinarily high recombination efficiency, make our batteries the safest sealed lead-acid batteries available. Thus, there is no excessive build up of gas in the batteries. PowerStar batteries are equipped with a safe, low-pressure venting system which operates at 1psi to 6psi, designed to release excess gas and reseal automatically in the event that gas pressure rises to a level above the normal rate. The PowerStar SLA battery has long life in float or cyclic service. The battery can withstand overcharge, over discharge, vibration, and shock, and is capable of extended storage. It can be easily maintained to permit proper operation of the equipment that it powers. The PowerStar SLA battery has stable and reliable performance. PowerStar batteries are made to operate in any position. The combination of the sealed construction and the use of absorptive MAT separators permit operation of our batteries in any position without loss of capacity, electrolyte or service life. In fact, there is no provision for these maintenance functions. ![]() PowerStar batteries incorporate a unique design that effectively controls generation of gas and allows recombination of over 90% of gas generated during the normal use.ĭuring the expected floating service life of PowerStar batteries, there is no need to check the specific gravity of the electrolyte or add water, which means they require no maintenance service. This system prevents escape of electrolytes from the separator which causes leakage. PowerStar batteries make use of fine mat separators (glass fiber) where sufficient electrolyte is absorbed to provide the longest life and steady service. PowerStar batteries are classified as "Non-Spillable" and will meet all requirements of the International Air Transport Association. This feature insures safe, efficient operation of our batteries in any position. Unique construction and sealing technique ensures that no electrolyte leakage can occur from the terminals or case of any PowerStar battery. The opening track sets this tone of comfortable unpredicability as Ward does an instrumental version of the Beach Boys’ “You Still Believe in Me” with an almost classical technique on his acoustic guitar. Ward ventures across the dial, creating music uniquely his but in no way unfamiliar. So, naturally, Ward’s fourth album, Transistor Radio pays tribute to old-timey American radio, and the freedom of broadcasting before these days of playlists and greased palms (he dedicates the album to “the last of the independent and open format” DJs). His recent cover of Pete Townshend’s “Let My Love Open the Door” demonstrates how powerful a voice he has, losing all the electronics of the original and pulling all the focus on that baritone. ![]() Frequently using his higher registers, Ward can sound almost ghostly, but when he reaches down to the bottom of his range, he becomes more chilling. You can’t deny his fretboard skills, but it’s his voice that haunts. He puts out the sense that he’s a guitarist first, and he only sings to finish off the songs. Forget finding that genre for his music that sounds too traditional to be innovative (yet too unique to be redundant) just figure out what he is. Maybe he’s more easily lumped under the Americana banner, but that one unfurls just a little too widely to really be useful. He cites John Fahey as a key influence, but he’s also spent plenty of time listening to the blues, Brian Wilson, Sonic Youth, and Louis Armstrong. With the recent success of Devendra Banhart, Joanna Newsom, and the like, Ward should be set for broader critical and commercial recognition. His fingerpicking guitar and raspy vocals have a connection to the folk tradition.
